    Helen MacRae, widow of William MacRae, Plumber, died at 6:30pm August 18th 1905, at 17 Hartfield St. She was 75 years old. Cause of death Carcinoma(?) and exhaustion. Her son James R MacRae was present.
    Her father was John Watson, a farmer, and her mother Helen Watson (maiden name unknown).

      In 1851 Census:
      William aged 30 (born MacDuff, Banffshire) is a Master Plumber living with his wife Hellen aged 29 (born Forres, Morayshire) at No.29 Hill st in Dingwall.
      they have a daughter Janet aged 9, Marianne aged 2 and William aged 6(?) months.

      In 1871 Census:
      William aged 50 (born MacDuff, Banffshire)is a Plumber employing 1 man and 1 boy, and living with his wife Hellen (born Forres, Morayshire)aged 49 at No.64 Hartfield St in Tain.
      Children; Maryanne 22, Roderick 18 and a Plumber, and John 14 Hellen 11 Jame 7 and Elizabeth 5 are all scholars.

      In 1881 Census:
      William aged 60 (born MacDuff, Banffshire) is a Plumber employing 5 men, and living with is wife Helen aged 59 (born Forres, Morayshire) and children in no. 63 in Hartfield st in Tain.
      They live in what must be the largest house in the street since they have 9 rooms with windows while most other houses have at most 3 rooms with windows.

      In 1891 Census:
      William aged 70 (born MacDuff, Banffshire), occupation Plumber, is living with Helen aged 68 (born Forres, Morayshire) at No.17 Hartfield st in Tain.
      Living with them are daughter Mary A MacRae, unmarried, aged 40; John MacRae, unmarried aged 34, a Plumber; James R MacRae, unmarried, aged 28, a Plumber; and Donald, a grandson aged 14, a Bositors(?) Compositors Apprentice.

      In 1901 Census:
      Helen MacRae, widow, aged 78 is living at 17 Hartfield st in Tain, in a house that has at least 7 rooms. Living with her is Maranne, her daughter aged 50 and her son John aged 45 who is a Plumber (employer not employee).

      Record of death 1905:
      Helen MacRae, widow of William MacRae, Plumber, died at 6:30pm August 18th 1905, at 17 Hartfield St. She was 75 years old. Cause of death Carcinoma(?) and exhaustion. Her son James R MacRae was present.
