  • Notes
    • Roderick was one of 10 children, and grew up in the Highland town of Tain, north of Inverness. he got married aged 31 in Edinburgh, showing that he and his wife Christina (also from Tain) had travelled to the lowlands for work as many highlanders did in the 19th century. They're still living in Edinburgh 7 years later with three children, and 17 years later they're registered as living back in the area they came from. There they stay, bringing up 8 children.
He was a Plumber and bell hanger, although you can see from the photos of receipts above that he did more plumbing than bell hanging.
